UK-Angola Trade & Investment Forum
Strengthening trade and investment relations between Angola and the United Kingdom
On Wednesday 9th September, 300+ delegates were brought together across government, development finance, investment and private sector for the UK-Angola Trade & Investment Forum. Exploring energy, infrastructure, agriculture, technology, finance and manufacturing, the forum provided a platform to unlock new opportunities which can drive innovation, create jobs and increase economic growth in Angola.
Opening remarks were made by Kirsty McNeill MP Minister of State for International Development (Africa), H.E. Vera Daves, Minister of Finance of Angola and Ben Ainsley, His Majesty’s Deputy Trade Commissioner for Africa. Discussion panels focused on unlocking financing, investment partnerships, core infrastructure and tourism as a driver for economic growth in Angola. Agrium Capital’s CEO, Rod Bassett participated in the panel ‘Unlocking Financing’.
The day ended with a VVIP Gala in which delegates and guests could further their discussions and make connections with the hope of developing new investments, partnerships, projects and opportunities in Angola.
